Dr. Federico Pallardó is Professor of Physiology at the University of Valencia, group leader in the CIBER of Rare Diseases (CIBERER) and director of the CIBER-BIOBANK, he is also part of the steering committee of the CIBERER and coordinator of its training area. He studied medicine in Valencia where he graduated in 1995. He developed his postgraduate studies at the University of Oxford and made a two-year postdoctoral stay at Harvard Medical School through a NATO scholarship. He has been visiting a professor at the Chicago Medical School.
His main areas of interest and research are rare diseases and oxidative stress mediated epigenetic regulation. He is one of the editors-in-chief of Redox Biology, the highest impact journal in his field. He is a founding partner of the CIBER spin-off and the University of Valencia EPIDISEASE S.L. He holds 4 patents related to the development of diagnosis biomarkers based on epigenetic parameters.
He has received several national and international awards and has supervised 24 doctoral theses
