Guadalupe Ximena Bazán

Graduate of the Catholic University of Cuyo in Argentina, earned her Bachelor’s degree in Human Nutrition in 2014. She worked as a nutritionist specializing in child malnutrition until 2018, when she moved to Spain to complete a Master’s in Human Nutrition and Applied Dietetics at the Complutense University of Madrid. At the same institution, she volunteered as a clinical nutritionist in the Department of Physical Activity and Sports of the Faculty of Medicine.
In January 2023, she joined the Molecular Oncology group at IMDEA Food through a spinoff, conducting in vitro assays on bioactive compounds—particularly the supercritical extract of rosemary—and collaborating in the validation of a nutraceutical for metabolic health in breast cancer. Since October of the same year, she has been part of the GENYAL Platform, where she has participated in four clinical trials funded by national and European projects, as well as in dietary intervention studies for private companies.
She is currently a predoctoral researcher at IMDEA Food, working on the DiBaN project (Linking Intestinal Bacteria and Host Metabolism to Tackle Type 2 Diabetes with Novel Food), funded by the HORIZON-EIC-2023-PATHFINDERCHALLENGE program.
